It is a collection of ideas
The Writing Lab’s involvement in the OLPC program started when a donor ordered an XO laptop (also known as a $100 laptop) in November 2007. The Give One Get One program offered donors the opportunity to buy an XO for themselves, and then donate a second one to a child in a developing country. The Writing Lab’s interest in the OLPC program stemmed from its long-standing commitment to global engagement. In addition, the land-grant university mission of Purdue is aligned with the OLPC program. As a result, the Writing Lab wanted to test OWL on the XO.
